         GONE VIRAL OUT of the hilarity of participating and nominating friends to douse ice-freezing water on oneself, the Ice Bucket Challenge is meant to bring awareness of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) – more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease – and generate donations to the ALS Association for progressive research in the field in search of ending the neurodegenerative sickness.
