Announcing the upcoming relaunch of The A&F Club... |
Launched in August 2012, The A&F Club arose from the developments of "smarter commerce" which brought forth higher-level intelligent, integrated business operations and relationship with consumer in unison with the sophistication and penetration of ever-progressing intelligent mobile technology in the 2010s. Features introduced with The A&F Club include a unique "MyID" barcode for each individual's account which can be pulled up on a smartphone and scanned in-store (this providing use of exclusive membership offers, store check-ins, an purchases registers; could also just be brought up at the cashwrap/tills by providing phone number or email); a birthday offer; access to the A&F Playlist, Club Gallery of photography, and intelligent Forecast feature (which provided clothing and accessories suggestions correlating with weather circumstances in whatever designated location by the user). All members also had the everyday option of free shipping with purchases of US$150+ (useful whenever a free-shipping offer was not available for all general customers). Only the Gallery in (January, and then July) and the Playlist were seasonally updated by 2014. The A&F Club site division was not updated along with the October 2014 upgrade of abercrombie.com, and so it remained in the old form with minor graphics inconsistencies: the link to the Club was removed, but regular visitors could access it throughout the remainder of the year – by which time only the playlist was updated – by entering the original site address theclub.abercrombie.com. Then, when the Spring Preview 2015 playlist launched for A&F, the new music titles would show on the player but would still play tracks from the Christmas playlist instead of the titles' correct tune. Now, by January 2015, visitors with the site address are now redirected to an announcement page...
Those who come across the page are informed of the pending relaunch for the year, and those of whom still have no account are encouraged to make an account with A&F for future access and insights. Instead of their currently unavailable barcode, Club members are informed to utilize their phone number or email address registered with their A&F Club account for when checking out in-store.
Plans for a revamp for the Club were shared back in November 2013 during the Q3 FY2013 results and future plans conference which outlined major initiatives which began rolling out to reinvigorate Abercrombie & Fitch. Among the features of the upgrade to the Club included a mention of the incorporation of a rewards program. There is also hope by fans for the expansion of the Club internationally beyond the American infrastructure for the first time. But we'll see! The all-new A&F Club is coming soon... #GetStoked
