A HCo Dude in Scotland! | The Abercrombie & Fitch Family: UK and US Prices Compared...

Hey Dudes and Bettys! Whats going on?

This week, I thought I'd compare the USA and UK prices for all four of the A&F brands. Just to show you that staying FIERCE in the UK is much more expensive! I picked all of these products at random from the websites.

I've started with the main brand over here, Abercrombie & Fitch. You can see the table below...

So as you can see, if you placed this order in the UK, you would pay $859.67. But if you placed your order in the USA, you would only pay $657.60. This means that you would save $202.07 if your order was placed in the USA. This is a massive saving when you think about the economic crisis here in Britain just now. I knew that the savings were big, but I never thought that you would be able to save just over $200! It definitely pays to pick up a lot when you are on your holidays in America.

Next, I had a look at Hollister Co., I was expecting a slightly smaller margin between the USA prices and the UK prices. Let's have a look!

As the table shows, the total of the UK order would be $606.87, the total of the USA order would be $516.15. This means that if you placed this order in the USA, you would save $90.72. This isn't as big a saving, but hey-ho - a saving is a saving! LOL

I also had a look at abercrombie (kids), I wasn't sure what to expect here, as the A&F Kids brand isn't as big here, as we don't yet have any stores. Have a look below.

You can see above that the total of the order placed in the UK is $456.74, and the order placed in the UK totals $348. This gives you a total saving of $108.74 if this order was placed in the USA. I don't think many people have picked up on how cool abercrombie (kids) is here yet, mostly because of the fact that there isn't any stores in the UK. The rest of Europe even has a few! There was talk of an A&F Kids Flagship store opening next to the A&F London Flagship store but no-one is really sure what is happening with it now since they've been extremely quiet. :(

Finally, I had a look at the Cheeky Cousin of Abercrombie & Fitch, Gilly Hicks. Again, I wasn't sure what to expect regarding the price margins as most people in Britain are still getting used to the idea of a dark, noisy bra shop - haha! Anyways, here are the results:

The table above shows that if you placed this order in the UK, it would cost you $246.32. Although, if you placed this order in America, it would only cost $171.30. This saves you $75.02. Not a dramatic saving, but every saving helps especially around the Holiday Season.

So in total, If you placed all 4 of these orders in the UK, it would've cost you $2156.60 (Excluding 20% VAT). If you placed them in the USA, it would've cost you $1693.05 (Excluding any sales taxes). This means you would save approximately $476.55 in total if these orders were placed in the USA, opposed to the UK. This is such a big saving for only 24 items, imagine if you had placed an order for more, you could easily be saving $600+

Anyways guys, if you reside outside of the USA (which most readers here do), have you ever been to the States and picked up masses of A&F goods? It's kinda typical, really. What do you think of the pricing margins? Drop me a comment below and I'll be sure to reply.

Until next Tuesday,

Stay FIERCE!
