It's known that Abercrombie & Fitch had acquired the Hofstatt building in 2011, on Sendlinger Straße (Sendlinger Strasse), for its much awaited flagship store in the great city of Munich. The entire Hofstatt structure is currently under construction (see photos here) and will definitely be a special sight to see! A&F's portion of the building, with a massive size of 3,300 square meters (roughly 35,521 square feet), will be the biggest Abercrombie & Fitch in Europe! And because it will also be housing the abercrombie kids brand under the same roof, it will make Germany the only privileged country in the world to have two dual A&F/abercrombie Flagships – those being A&F Düsseldorf and A&F Munich!
But now it is very clear that the Hofstatt property will also be housing Germany's first ever Hollister flagship store! While the A&F/abercrombie division of the property will have its store entrance on Sendlinger Straße, the Hollister flagship will have its own storefront around the corner on Färbergraben street. Specially for the Hollister store will be the biggest HCo video, electronic facade in Europe! To span over two stories, it will feature footage from Huntington Beach, California. The Hollister flagship itself will measure at about 1,500 square meters (about 16,145 square feet) of the best of fantasy of Southern California for Munich!
The Company will take place on three levels: the basement will be used for stock, while the ground floor and upper level will serve as retail space.
In conclusion, the Hofstatt will be a key point of cool in Europe and in the world; and it will join the list of the most notable of A&F Company locations! Honestly, it is going to be in a special category of its own...as there isn't anything like what will be in Munich!
The A&F Flagship, with the abercrombie kids brand, is still scheduled to open doors during the upcoming Christmas 2012 fashion season. Meanwhile, Hollister's flagship is anticipated to swing open sometime during Spring 2013. Richard Collyer, the senior director of real estate for Abercrombie & Fitch, commented that sometimes you have to wait long to get the best. And we've got the best thing... We agree with Mr. Collyer!
