Our awesome London correspondent Chris Bailey had a good one himself! Great friends and good times came hand-in-hand with a weekend trip to Birmingham, England! FYI Birmingham is the second biggest city in the United Kingdom, after London, and, as Chris shares, has good nightlife, too! ;) While in Birmingham, one must check out the Bullring Shopping Centre, of course; and so Chris made sure to provide some nice shots to share with us all...
First up is a little piece of history! The St. Martin's Church stands between the Bullring Shopping Centre and the nearby markets. First built in the 14th century, it is Birmingham's original parish...
Found nearby is the awe-inspiring Selfridges department store at Bullring! If you did not know, this particular Selfridges received much attention, right after its opening in 2003, for its forward-minded exterior and interior design. (It has even been highlighted in architecture books). Every year since its opening, Retail Week has voted it as one of the 100 stores in the world to visit....
Moving along, check out the cool interior of Bullring...
And now what everyone most wants to see, the amazing Hollister store! Located on the recently new Main Street entrance to Bullring, and encased behind a glass frontage, the two story location commands a prominent spot in front of the iconic Bullring bull where visitors, some from other parts of the world, come to snap a photo. HCo Bullring's coming made news in August 2010 and the store was all open to the crowds by January 2011. Check out photos of the opening (here).
It's quite a unique store in the line-up of HCo shops worldwide. And as Chris pointed out, it is almost like a flagship store. ...Fitting, since it's there to serve SoCal fans in the United Kingdom's second largest urban area...
Taking cool by the horns, how awesome is that!!!
Stay FIERCE!
