Maketing Review! | Spring 2012: Carefree, Bold, and Undeniably Cool!

On February 8, the Abercrombie & Fitch brands rolled out their awesome marketing for the Spring 2012 season and we just couldn't be anymore stoked!

As tradition calls, here's our seasonal marketing review...

Abercrombie & Fitch

A wonder for what lays beyond the lens and a charm of delicate beauty characterize this bold Abercrombie & Fitch Spring 2012. It's simple, but in a deep and romantic way that commands attention! Classic appeal, with hints of natural elegance and aspirational pose, stands to inspire and captivate...

Seriously, people have been commenting on how beautiful the female model is in her Spring season dress, and the male model has got fans of his own! In fact, he is Maxwell Zagorski who first made his appearance for A&F in Spring 2006. This time, however, is 2012...and Spring at A&F is looking more amazing than ever before!

Hollister Co

One thing comes to mind initially before anything else...photoshop overload! Yes, the photography is very, very touched up. And you know what, this new full-color imagery is a far cry from the natural and raw vintage of the old Hollister photos in sepia tone. But whatever, right?! This HCo Spring 2012 collection is nevertheless hot! The bright colors, along with lifeguard poise and SoCal Betty charm, come together for a very interesting portfolio of photos, indeed!

Wanna keep a watchout for the hottest from Hollister this season? You best stay ON BEACH DUTY, my fellow Dudes and Bettys!

Gilly Hicks

Well, everyone, Ashley Perich is back. Technically she didn't even really model for this season's collection of shots for Gilly Hicks. Two photos are actually heavily altered shots - one from Back-to-School 2011 and the other from Christmas 2011. As a nod to Spring, in these two pictures, Jimmy Brighton's boxers were digitally replaced with navy swim shorts. Ashley's underwear was furthermore changed to navy underwear. A&F has to be applauded for its impressive photoshop work for Gilly Hicks. [That comment was sarcastic!] LOL Seriously, though, the photos do look nice after all. However, we can all agree that its time for some new non-Ashley shots. We want "wow!" and this is not it at all.

Up until the publishing of this post, Gilly Hicks had not released a gallery of its Spring photos on Facebook. The following were retrieved from gillyhicks.com. Click images below to expand...

Conclusion...

It's all a cool transition from Christmas 2011 and on into Spring 2012. You surely noticed that all the brands used similar backgrounds from last season? Well, such backgrounds have never been a staple of Spring marketing for the A&F Brands; and it is that which has made this Spring an interesting new, bold take on the Spring season! Definitely, profile shots ruled the collections for A&F, abercrombie, and HCo...and everyone enjoys a little intimate one-on-one between themselves and the individual model when "studying" a photo! LOL.

All of the photography is visually uplifting and totally has us excited for Spring!!!

Stay FIERCE!
