         A ONE-OF-A-KIND WONDER onto its own, Abercrombie & Fitch at The Grove in Los Angeles, California, was an outstanding entity of the ultimate finest of the A&F Experience! Originally opened in The Grove in 2002, it was remodeled and reinaugurated, on July 15, 2006, as the West Coast Abercrombie & Fitch Fitch flagship store following the grand November 2005 premier of the first A&F Flagship, A&F Fifth Avenue, in New York City. Of having possessed a great personal history and relationship within the Company and the greater world, A&F The Grove was an icon. Now, time after its February 21 closure this year, The Sitch on Fitch, in collaboration with a former store model and new TSOF Contributor, offers newfound exclusive insight into the its final days...

         FIRSTLY, THIS POST is made from 100% cotton there isn't a fibre of polyester in sight! Right, you know where I sit on the cotton / polyester debate, so let me take you through my graphic tees from 2003-2010. Why only up to 2010, I hear you ask? Well this is when I consider the classic Casual Luxury period of A&F when a graphic tee really was a graphic tee - with design and quality really oozing style - while from 2010 the quality began to wane, in my opinion. I consider the tees in this piece to be retro classics from an era of A&F (one although too arrogant for its own good) of when were backed up by quality to such a level that just wearing them made you feel like you were a member of an exclusive club. So let's get into our Delorean and go back to where it all began.

By the peak of incontrovertible iconic glory by the end of 2007 before the dawn of the Great Recession, Mike Jeffries' Abercrombie & Fitch was an unstoppable, unchallenged behemoth at the zenith of youth fashion retail - one of the leading revolutionary greats in fashion retail - which by then had ended the glorious mid-2000s with a powerful accelerating traction of potential to be realized and with five innovative concepts in its inspired portfolio of brands: the flagship Abercrombie & Fitch brand, abercrombie kids (1998; childrenswear version), Hollister Co. (2000; the Fantasy of Southern California), RUEHL No.925 (2004; upscale Greenwich Village, New York dream for young adults), and Gilly Hicks which was just gearing up for its premier to the world with its founding provocative, sophisticated-yet-cheeky "Down Undie" fantasy initially for women 18 and up. But the Recession changed everything, everything, and a possible Concept 6 just never saw the light of day....

         THE FINAL BOMB-drop to dismantle what remains of Mike Jeffries' Abercrombie & Fitch, the April 24 release, by Abercrombie & Fitch Co. new senior management, left a reeling, polarized landscape after heralding the slackening of associates standards and store protocol and the definitive discontinuation of sexuality in branding and marketing. The latter aspect, in particular, came in utmost coincidence after the April 12 official announcement of Hillary Rodham Clinton's intent for the White House as Democrat candidate for the 2016 United States presidential election: as it's turned out, Abercrombie & Fitch was not in good standing with her when it came to the matter of explicit nature in marketing for youths. Now, sexuality in A&F Marketing is caught up as part of a greater national political discussion over the contrasting ideology of the powerful presidential candidate...
