All About Style! | Hot for Spring 2014...

         WHAT'S UP, READERS?! March is coming to a close. And whether you've spent it watching hit TV series like The Walking Dead or partaking in March Madness (American Basketball season kick off), there's one thing that we're all happy to say... Climatically, the SPRINGTIME season has officially arrived!

As we've witnessed for the fashion period, Abercrombie & Fitch has had an aggressive campaign lined with exciting new styles unlike any before in previous years! Each brand in the Company is being fleshed out with its own more signature flair, and it's quite amazing. Hollister is no longer so "Abercrombiefied" and now has a furthered discernible style. Definitely developments to love.

So, without further ado, here's how I've put together two of my personal hottest looks for this season!




T H E   G O O D S
Herein lies a quintessential, all-American look synonymous with A&F. On me is a flagship exclusive artistic graphic tee; a pair of classic, camo cargo shorts; and leather treads, of course! Now all that's left is roadtrip hundreds of miles with the Adirondack Mountains as destination in style!

Going on here is beach inspired look that screams "spring"! Combining clothes from both A&F and Hollister – scandalous(?) – the affair works great. Their shorts are wholly interchangeable, and I bought both pairs of featured shorts during a rare "Buy 1 get 1 50% off" sale. Also, Sperry's boat shoes are once again my preferred footwear this season because I believe they really... tie the look together.

Spotted in Pop Culture! | Steve McQueen by Sid Avery...

         AS A SPECIAL feature on this #TBT (Throwback Thursday), #THEHOTTESTBLOG pays tribute to commanding Hollywood icon Terence Steven McQueen (b.1930 - d.1980) as featured in Vanity Fair's"The 20th Annual Hollywood Issue" March 2014 special collectors edition. Known more casually as "Steve", the King of Cool forms part of a golden trove of actors of a bygone Hollywood to have been photographed by the celebrated Sid Avery (b.1918 - d.2002) of "quiet mastery [and] guileless charm." Steve's iconic photo by Avery is of him rollin' through Nichols Canyon in Hollywood Hills in 1960. Classic photography by Editor-in-Chief C.E.R. captures the beautiful piece in timeless code...









The late Steve is the grandfather of our boy, Steven R. McQueen, who's one of the seven beloved young stars as cast for "A&F The Making of a Star" Spring 2014...

All About Style! | Double-Denim Debonair Dudes...

         A MAN WHO can so-hot ingeniously pull off double-denim is an ultimate keeper! Apart from rocking pink, for example, double-denim is one outstanding look that takes hella style intellect and confidence...your average joe definitely harbors not the wit-capacity for it without making faux pas. Watch out! But the hilarity of it, however, is that it's not even that hard at all, dear Aberfellow, and your getting it right will totally assure you as commander with game!

Principally, double-denim is a classic to be pulled off effortlessly. The golden rule of thumb is to establish a perfect play of complimenting contrasts with washes in relation to top and jeans. Light shirt/jacket? Pair it with medium or dark wash jeans. Vice versa with a medium or dark wash top. Another contrasting aspect to take it up another notch, faded washes. Solid light-wash top with darker shade jeans bearing stylized softly faded effect on front legs, for example. This is especially handy for when the shades of your top and jeans get real close to matching. Works beautifully.

Be careful with true matching shade tops and jeans, though. Unless cheekily intentional, you'll risk looking like you're about to hop onto the tractor! If you wish to go with it, reference to faded-effect contrasts: solid wash top with soft-faded stylized jeans to make it work, for example.
